At Pillar Health and Kenosha Community Health Center (KCHC), we are proud to recognize and celebrate National Public Health Week (NPHW) from April 7–13, 2025. This week highlights the critical role that public health plays in building stronger, healthier communities—something we are deeply committed to every day.

What We Do: Bringing Comprehensive Care to Our Communities

Our mission is simple but powerful: your health, our mission. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide comprehensive, high-quality care to individuals and families across Southeast Wisconsin, regardless of their ability to pay. Through medical, dental, and behavioral health services, we ensure that our patients have access to the care they need to lead healthier lives.

The Role of FQHCs in Public Health

Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) play a vital role in advancing public health by offering affordable and accessible healthcare to communities. According to the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), FQHCs serve more than 30 million people annually across the United States, ensuring that individuals receive essential care.

As an FQHC, Pillar Health and KCHC contribute to public health by:

  • Preventing disease by offering immunizations, screenings, and education to reduce the spread of preventable illnesses
  • Managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma with personalized care plans
  • Responding to community needs by providing culturally competent care and addressing the unique needs of the populations we serve
How We Do It: A Focus on Prevention and Connection

At Pillar Health and KCHC, we know that good health starts long before a visit to the doctor’s office. It begins in our homes, schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods. By focusing on prevention, education, and access, we empower individuals to take control of their health and well-being.

Our integrated care model ensures that patients can receive medical, dental, and behavioral health services all in one place. This approach not only improves overall health outcomes but also fosters stronger relationships between our providers and the community.
