About
What made you choose a career in healthcare?
I have always had a deep desire to help others. Through life experiences, I found my way to mental healthcare over a decade ago and have not looked back. I feel called to make a difference in the lives of those in my community who need assistance with their mental health and have chosen a career as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner to do so.
What types of care do you provide and what sets your care apart?
I am nationally certified to provide care in mental health and addiction, and I treat patients 12-64 years old. I have worked in outpatient and inpatient care, as well as crisis and post-hospitalization assistance. This spectrum of experience gives me a unique perspective and a desire to provide comprehensive care for patients. I understand that sometimes there are circumstances in life that contribute to mental and physical illnesses, and sometimes the best way to treat these is to address the root cause.
What’s you’re patient care philosophy?
My goal with treatment is to help each patient overcome their mental health obstacles and achieve their highest level of functioning. I believe the best way to make that happen is to collaborate with my patients on their plan of care. I may be the medical expert in the relationship, but you are the expert on you. Together we can come up with a treatment plan and a find a way for you to be your best self!
What can patients look forward to when they visit you?
You can expect to be heard. I am compassionate and want to hear your story. I will take the time to listen to you, and then we can discuss options for your care.
