About
Month/Year Started at KCHC:
July 2021
What made you choose a healthcare career?
My first and only job was as a Nurse’s Aide at the County Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. It was there that I found my passion for nursing, and have never had a job outside of that profession. I enjoy helping people understand their health needs and how to optimize their health. I especially enjoy helping the underserved population.
What types of care do you provide, and what sets your care apart?
I am the supervisor for the RNs and referral center. In the past, I have worked in Medical, Surgical, and Coronary Intensive care settings as well as working for a Surgeon for 25 years as his office manager and assistant. Following that, I worked for 12 years in Home Health as an RN doing direct care and then as a Director of Clinical Services, supervising at any given time up to 25 different medical team members. I came to KCHC in 2021 as an RN Care Transition Coordinator and set up the ER Care Transition program.
What’s your patient care philosophy?
Patient empowerment! I want the patients to understand their health issues through education and to be able to manage and improve their situation with our assistance.
What can patients look forward to when they visit you?
A warm smile and a helping hand.
