Pillar Health Takes Part in Groundbreaking of New Lincoln-King Community & Health Care Center in Racine, Future Home of Fifth Pillar Health Location
Pillar Health, a division of Kenosha Community Health Center (KCHC), is proud to join the City of Racine’s vision for expanded community healthcare as a key partner in the soon-to-be-built Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center. This $68 million project, located near Julian Thomas Elementary School, will house Racine’s first Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and marks Pillar Health’s second dedicated location.
As a tenant and service provider, Pillar Health will deliver accessible, affordable medical, dental, and behavioral health services at the new center and at community events, directly addressing Racine’s shortage of healthcare options. This center, which will also include space for Racine’s public health department and essential city programs, is part of the City of Racine’s longstanding mission to improve healthcare access in the Lincoln-King neighborhood.
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, designed to eliminate barriers to care with culturally sensitive, bilingual services, is expected to open in the third quarter of 2026. Pillar Health looks forward to helping fulfill this vision and bringing impactful health services to over 24,000 residents, in line with the city’s commitment to reducing health disparities.
As Reported on Racine County Eye
As construction begins on the Lincoln-King Community and Health Care Center, Racine’s Public Health Administrator Dottie-Kay Bowersox underscored the center’s importance in bridging significant healthcare gaps for thousands of residents.
The center, which will house Racine’s first Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) operated by Pillar Health, will address long-standing healthcare disparities in the underserved Lincoln-King neighborhood.
Mary Ouimet, DPN, RN, CEO of Pillar Health, noted, “Our goal is to eliminate barriers to healthcare access,” highlighting that the FQHC designation allows the center to receive enhanced federal reimbursements, ensuring sustainability while providing comprehensive care.
What Racine Residents Can Expect:
